Information for Vet Practices

I am a qualified Galen Myotherapist. Let me explain how I can work collaboratively with your practice to benefit your canine patients.

Galen Myotherapy is a form of manual therapy that focuses on identifying and treating muscle imbalances, restrictions and compensatory patterns in dogs. It’s a gentle yet effective approach that can address a range of issues, from muscular pain and stiffness to postural problems and reduced mobility.

While I do work with dogs undergoing rehabilitation (with prior veterinary consent, of course, as per the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and Exemption Order 2015), I also offer maintenance appointments for healthy dogs.

These sessions can be beneficial for:

• Preventing injuries: By identifying and addressing muscle imbalances early on, we can help reduce the risk of future problems.
• Maintaining performance: For active dogs, myotherapy can help optimise muscle function, improve flexibility, and enhance performance.
• Promoting overall well-being: Regular myotherapy sessions can contribute to a dog’s general comfort, relaxation, and quality of life.

I understand the importance of a collaborative approach to canine care, and I am committed to working closely with veterinary professionals. I always require veterinary consent before treating any dog with a pre-existing medical condition, and I am happy to provide detailed reports on my findings and treatment plans.

I hold my own professional indemnity and public liability insurance for physiotherapy & non-invasive therapies with Pet Business Insurance. I comply with UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), tailored by the Data Protection Act 2018. I trained and qualified under the Galen Myotherapy® Training Centre having completed the Galen Myotherapy® Full Diploma which is being accredited by Laser Learning. Each year I commit to a minimum of 20 hours CPD as part of Galen Myotherapy® learning requirements. Although exceed this as am a Canine Arthritis Management advocate as well as a member of Online Pet Health and attend both their yearly conferences.
